Billing Policy Change
We have reviewed our Billing Policy and due to increasing costs to run our practice and to continue to provide you with the best possible care, time and attention, we are introducing mixed billing for consultations for all doctors at the practice, 5 days a week.
This will be effective from 4 November 2019.
Only eligible patients will be bulk billed for Medicare Rebateable Services. These patients include children 15 years and under, Health Care Card and Pension card holders, DVA card holders and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients.
Patients who do not fall into one of these categories will be charged a private fee as follows:
|Monday to Friday||Standard Consultation||$65 Fee||$38.20 Medicare Rebate||Out of pocket $26.80|
|Monday to Friday||Long Consultation||$110 Fee||$73.95 Medicare Rebate||Out of pocket $36.05|
|Monday to Friday||Prolonged Consultation||$150 Fee||$108.85 Medicare Rebate||Out of pocket $41.15|
A Did Not Attend Fee of $40 will also be introduced. A warning letter will be sent to you on the first missed appointment and a fee will be charged from the second missed appointment. You must also provide a minimum of 1 hours notice when cancelling your appointment, otherwise a Did Not Attend Fee will be charged.
Your Medicare rebate can be processed by the practice. You will need to pay the total fee upfront and then the rebate from Medicare will be refunded to you as per Medicare processing times into your bank account. Our software allows for on the spot processing through Medicare and if you have an EFTPOS debit card, we can put the rebate in instantly. Alternatively, if you have provided Medicare with your bank details, the rebate will be back in your bank account within 24 hours. Please discuss with our reception team for more information.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
